Divya Delhi : Delhi Police’s Begumpur Police Station and the Anti-Robbery and Snatching Cell (ARSC) of Rohini District have solved a blind murder case within 24 hours, arresting five accused allegedly involved in the killing of a 19-year-old man. Police also recovered two knives believed to have been used in the crime, the victim’s mobile phone, and five mobile phones belonging to the accused. According to police, the case came to light on July 13 after a PCR call reported a body lying near the DDA Ground in Sector-23, Rohini. A police team reached the spot and found the body of a young man, later identified as Chandan (19), an employee of a private industrial unit in Rithala. Preliminary examination revealed that he had suffered a fatal stab injury to the chest. A case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered, and an investigation was launched. Considering the seriousness of the crime, dedicated teams from PS Begumpur and ARSC began a coordinated investigation. Using technical surveillance, human intelligence, field verification, and multiple raids, investigators identified and tracked down the suspects. All five accused were apprehended within 24 hours of the case being reported. During interrogation, the accused allegedly admitted their involvement in the murder. Police recovered two knives suspected to be the weapons used in the offence, along with the victim’s mobile phone and five mobile phones belonging to the accused. Officials said these recoveries are expected to play a crucial role in strengthening the investigation.
