Rohini Jail once again came into focus for its reformative approach as it organised a grand musical concert aimed at the mental, social and moral upliftment of inmates. The initiative was held under the guidance and leadership of Jail Superintendent Gaurav Saini as part of the prison’s continued efforts to encourage positive behavioural change among prisoners. The event was designed to divert inmates from negative influences and guide them towards creativity, culture and self-introspection. Prison authorities highlighted that music has a powerful therapeutic impact, helping to ease stress, anger and emotional strain while promoting inner peace and psychological balance. Addressing the inmates, Superintendent Gaurav Saini stated that Rohini Jail has been consistently working towards the holistic development of prisoners. He noted that various facilities and programmes, including spiritual education, computer training, moral guidance and skill-development initiatives, are being provided to prepare inmates for a responsible and productive life after their release. Former ACP of Delhi Police, Virendra Punj, who attended the programme as the chief guest, made a strong appeal in favour of education as a key tool to break the cycle of crime. He emphasised that compulsory legal education and vocational training for prisoners, as well as students, could play a significant role in reducing repeat offences and supporting successful reintegration into society. The programme was conducted peacefully in strict compliance with prison protocols. Officials observed a noticeable sense of calm and happiness among the inmates during the event. Representatives from Kiran Devi Foundation, DKSD Kapoor Ladli Foundation,Rajesh Chauhan , Vice Chancellor from Avonleigh University and Pratham Agenda were also present on the occasion, lending their support to the reformative initiative.
