Divya Delhi : July 7: Government schools in several areas are facing a shortage of teachers after many were assigned to Special Intensive Revision (SIR) duty, affecting regular classroom teaching. With a large number of teachers engaged in election-related responsibilities, schools are struggling to maintain normal academic activities. Students in several schools have reportedly experienced disrupted classes, with some institutions relying on substitute arrangements or combining classes to manage the shortage. School authorities have expressed concern that prolonged deployment of teachers for SIR duty could impact learning outcomes and the completion of the academic syllabus Education officials have stated that election-related duties are mandatory for designated staff, while efforts are being made to minimise disruptions and ensure that teaching resumes normally once the assignment is completed.
