KKR’s Bangladeshi Buy Creates Uproar Shah Rukh Khan Faces Political Attack

Divya Delhi : A fresh controversy has erupted around the IPL 2026, creating ripples not only in the cricketing world but also in political circles. At the center of the storm is Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman and Kolkata Knight Riders’ co-owner Shah Rukh Khan. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has so far not taken a clear stand on whether Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman will be permitted to play in IPL 2026. Amid this uncertainty, Kolkata Knight Riders bought Mustafizur Rahman for a hefty sum of ₹9.20 crore during the IPL auction. Soon after the auction, the issue escalated into a major controversy. KKR co-owner and Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan found himself in the spotlight, with questions being raised over the team’s decision to buy a Bangladeshi player despite the lack of clarity from the BCCI. The matter has now taken a political turn. BJP leader and former Uttar Pradesh MLA Sangeet Som launched a sharp attack on Shah Rukh Khan, making strong remarks over the issue. His comments have sparked widespread debate and criticism across political and social platforms.
