DIVYA DELHI : The India AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam focused on global AI governance on Day 5, headlined by the GPAI Council Meeting reviewing progress on responsible and inclusive artificial intelligence. A Leaders’ Declaration outlining a shared roadmap for global AI cooperation is set to be adopted. In a key development, India joined Pax Silica, a US-led alliance aimed at securing AI and semiconductor supply chains. The signing was attended by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and US envoy Sergio Gor. Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, highlighted the critical role of the US-India partnership in expanding AI access, expressing confidence in India’s AI growth. The summit also showcased India’s first indigenous e-VTOL air taxi developed by The ePlane Company with IIT Madras. French President Emmanuel Macron concluded his visit with a montage video thanking India, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi held key bilateral meetings with global leaders. As the summit nears its conclusion, India’s AI diplomacy and entry into Pax Silica underscore its growing role in shaping the global technology landscape.
