DIVYA DELHI : India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is doubtful for the team’s opening T20 World Cup 2026 match against the USA on Saturday after feeling slightly unwell and missing a training session on Friday. With a long tournament ahead, the Indian team management is unwilling to take any early risk with its premier fast bowler. Bumrah did not bowl in the nets and was reportedly running a mild temperature, making rest a likely precautionary option. If Bumrah is unavailable, Mohammed Siraj, who joined the squad on Friday evening, is expected to come into the playing XI, while Hardik Pandya could share the new ball. India face a packed group schedule with matches against Namibia (Feb 12), Pakistan (Feb 15) and Holland (Feb 18), prompting the management to prioritise Bumrah’s fitness for the later stages of the tournament.
