Divya Delhi : Jaipur July 16 At least 115 people reportedly fell ill after consuming golgappas from a roadside street cart in Rajasthan, with 12 of them requiring hospitalisation due to severe symptoms of suspected food poisoning. According to health officials, those affected complained of vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain, and nausea shortly after eating the popular street snack. Medical teams rushed the victims to nearby hospitals and health centres, where most were treated and later discharged, while 12 patients remained under observation. Following the incident, local authorities and food safety officials inspected the street food cart and collected samples of the golgappas, flavoured water, and other ingredients for laboratory testing. An investigation has been launched to determine whether contaminated food or unhygienic preparation caused the mass illness. Officials have urged residents to exercise caution while consuming food from roadside vendors and assured that strict action will be taken if food safety violations are confirmed. The condition of the hospitalised patients is reported to be stable.
